Grandma's second childhood?

Hmm, just received a small handwritten note from my grandmother - a very respectable (but not overtly 'posh' in an affected way) lady with piles of cash and who lives in what is best described as a flat in a development of a stately-home type of thing.

 

Anyway, she is not given to slang or coarse, common language - so I'm a bit bemused by the use of the word 'bloke', and the initiation of a sentence with an 'Anyway, whatever...'

 

I haven't read the rest of it - but this is worrying stuff.
