RH Driveshaft.

I had a duffer a couple of years ago, spent ages looking for a replacement joint, motor factors, Ford, scrappies, transmission specialist all to no avail. Your only choice is to send the driveshaft back to GKN driveline the manufacturer either through a transmission specialist or through CC. The Ford type driveshafts are no longer available through CC the latest type being made by GKN once again but now have freelander CV joints and lighter connecting/drive shafts.

I'm a service engineer for a CNC machine tool company. GKN use several of our machines, at GKN Drivelines and GKN Driveshafts. So give me a part number or model number or what what it goes on/came off and i'll see if I can get one for you. I'm there tomorrow and quite regularly.

John M, Was that a driveshaft you saw or the prop shaft here?

Mark G. Very kind offer. Would be very interested if you're able to get something that will save me spending lots with CC. I believe the joint is from Sierra's that had rear drum brakes (not the disc braked cars) if that helps identify anything. Other than that I have no idea on part numbers for the joints. Sorry for the late reply but I 've been away a couple of days.

OK thanks Mark. A refurb would be fine if I could send the old one off and get it back refubed I'd be v. happy. That would save me the hassle of trying diy. I can arrange shipping by courier easily as we have a contract.

Efforts much appreciated.

UPDATE:

Unfortunately GKN that Mark G took my driveshaft to where unable to help. So last week I sent it off to Mick @ Redline Components for him to look at and decide whether it was time for a new one or fix if he could.

It arrived at Redline at 13:46 Friday. Today (Monday) I got an email from Mick at 13:08 stating the original shaft was fixed and ready to despatch. Cost just £72 pounds *thumbup*. Rather less than the cost of a new one from CC at £245.

I've often heard good things said about Redline and can only add my vote here 😬
