rossybee
Got woken this morning by a noise at 4am. Thought oiks were trying to smash the window of a car across the road. Wife called Police, give them their due, they appeared within 3 minutes. Got up this morning, turns out all along my street the door mirrors on most cars have been smashed... Both mine included ☹️ Wife's 106 is just the mirror glass (should be gettable from scappie), but my 156 nearside has the whole housing broken, which has annoyed me somewhat *mad* One of my nearby neighbours came along & said they had been caught, two laddies aged 15 & 16 So it'll be a telling off, and no compo for the owners of all the damaged vehicles *mad* Peed off ❗ Ross

chrisb
You might be surprised. If they've been caught, they will probably have to pay for the damage. (Even if its 20p per week forever) The police caught some oik jumping on the roof of my mates Scooby. He was 15, and drunk, but he had to pay to have the damage repaired. owelly
They were probably bored. I don't blame them at all. When I'm bored I break other peoples cars. It would be foolish to break my own. Give the poor kids a break. Cut them some slack. Perhaps they come from broken homes or have a background of abuse. Hows my sarcasm this morning? Scum. All of 'em. *mad* savin up to be eccentric. but for now, i'll just be stupid...

Blatman
If their parents have household insurance, see if it includes Public Liability. If it does, go get 'em. If they don't have the appropriate clauses in their insurance, then let the courts get 'em.....
rossybee
Update: Turns out they are two 17yr old students, who were caught red-handed, so are likely to plead guilty 😬 So might be a ble to hold out for some compo yet Ross
