lsd
I did say sensible offers!! I know the ecu is worth nearly that. Mail me @ fit4cash@hotmail.com
Dannyboy
The last 1400 Supersport ECU went on here for £60! My Supersport Engine, with 12,000 miles was bought for £200...therefore the offer isn't that far off! I would expect a 1400 Supersport with ECU to go for around £350-£450 tops.... Jason Plato
Dont go back on your word ! You said first sensible offer ! My offer is sensible ! If you had a price in mind then you should have displayed it . Am I having your engine or are you going to go back on your word 🤔

Sheds Moderator
What are you getting so upset about? The ad went up, Dave J made an offer (and I for one don't think 250 is a serious offer for an engine +ECU), and less than an hour later the seller said "no, I want a reasonable offer" which most of us can understand. Next news he is being told that this is unacceptable and he has gone back on his word. Now unless there was an offline discussion I for one don't think this is the case, so behave yourselves. Finally, if anyone else has decent 1.4kss engines with or without ECUs that I can have for £250, then yes please. We all know a high port head is worth that so let's all stop taking the proverbial. Alias
Must concur with BOSS . £250 may seem a sensible offer to some, but surely it is the seller who has the last word on what they consider to be a sensible offer. LSD could have put "first offer that is sensible in my opinion" but this would have laboured the point. Perhaps on "for sale" threads where the price is negotiable it would be an idea to put something like "best offer over £xxx received by xx/xx/xx" will secure. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1400 Supersport with 6 gears and clamshell wings
CHRIS CLARK
Just as a pointer, I got 600 notes for mine three years ago which was complete with SS ECU, loom, alternator, etc. + spare crankcase from a blown Metro. Had 'provenance' of 133 bhp from Dave W's rolling road with it too. Ended up in a rally car (Escort!) and has won several races to date. Clamshell Club Founder Member. Jason Plato
When you can now get low mileage EU3 K engines from the breakers for £325 > £450 . And the statement "Open to offers taking up garage space, first sensible offer secures." is used then the seller should be realistic about the worth of an old 1400 K . If Chris sold his engine for £600 then the buyer was a sucker IMHO or Chris was lucky Anyway - there was no off line discussion BOSS . And I was not taking the proverbial ! I just think that if you sell something then make it clear what you are selling and simply display the price ? anyway moving on ............ Sheds Moderator
Yeah, let's move on. It's encouraging that K bits are now so affordable/available, gives me a good feeling should mine go on the sick. On that theme, better empty the box of bits on the basis I won't need them.
