Nick Green Posted March 8, 2000 Share Posted March 8, 2000 Chris, I've used the Caterham rack on a Westy (I've got a 7 now, BTW). It carried a 16lb bag no bother. I used an extra strap though. I carried a bag (approx 20lbs) of spares and tools on it and even took it around a circuit at full pelt with the bag on! It does scratch the spare carrier even with some padding and the strap they supply might not be enough. I used an old leather belt to secure it to the spare wheel and some samsonite luggage straps to hold the bag on. Have a look at http://freespace.virgin.net/alex.wong/liegephotos/5vdu3.jpg for a pic.
