Mike Molloy
I have Caterham-branded AP 4-pot front calipers (circa 2000MY, single pad retaining bolt). Can anybody give me the exact AP part numbers for the caliper and a replacement seal kit? Thanks, Mike.
shn7
Mike, If no one comes up with the exact answer have a look on the AP website here. I got the part number for a master cylinder service kit that way. Steve.
Graham Sewell
The AP caliper number should be etched/stamped onto the caliper. Low tech luddite - xflow and proud!
Chelspeed
Didn't reply earlier because I don't know the answer. These are the black calipers I think, judging by the 2000 date and the single bolt comment. I have the earlier silver AP 4 pots and these are part no CP3876. I'm sure I recall someone saying the piston diameters are the same for the new and old calipers so perhaps the repair kits are the same?
Mike Molloy
Studied the caliper as best I could, but the only number I could find was 210C. Where exactly should I be looking?
Rob Walker
Mike I suggest you send the calipers to John Freeth of Performance Braking Tel 01600 713117. Its only too easy to scratch the caliper bores when inserting the pistons by not being able to keep the piston in line with the bore. He will be able to supply you with the correct seals if you want to do the job yourself. Edited by - Rob Walker on 27 Aug 2004 11:42:
Chelspeed
Or if you're in Stratford (see I did learn something from school...) then perhaps BG Developements in Bromsgrove. They're an AP agent and just down the road for you. Very friendly, knwledgeable and helpful (as is John Freeth in Monmouth of course).
