millsn
I need to fit replacement damper top mounts to the latest dampers in order for them to fit my car (92 spec dedion). Can anyone confirm that this is possible? Both damper piston rods appear to be 11mm diameter so I hope the thread is the same on old and new dampers alike. Icannot fit the new damper direct without mods as the top mount bush is too wide for my chassis to accept. Can anyone confirm that thread sizes? Also - what spring rates do people run at the front in conjunction with the progressive rear end? Nigel Mills - 2.0 Zetec carbs

EFA
Nigel, The top bushes are very tight and on first attempt fitting you may find the rubber part 1mm or more wider than the gap in the chassis. A good shove and it should go together. I am not aware of any revision to the damper bush widths, unless your car is pre '92 spec - i.e. Spax not Bilstein. The damper piston threads are M10 on every modern Sevenesque damper I've ever seen.
