Mr Locust
here is one on ebay. You will need to find out if the new 'Caged' one is handed (the design 'looks' symmetrical') Ian Green and Silver Roadsport 😬

Slider7
As I'm also looking to fit a LHD FIA roll bar, I asked Caterham Cars if the new type 'caged' roll bar as on the new R500 Evo is FIA approved !? Their answer : NO it isn't
lechatsurletoit
Ok but the seller on ebay says that the bar is FIA. Is the same one we are talking about? The strut is in the middle, I guess it's not handed!
Slider7
Saw the add on Ebay ... on yes it's the same type of roll bar as I'm talking about. The seller does advertise it as a FIA bar, ... but all I can say is that the Parts Department (Darren Phillips) of Caterham Cars told me that this new type of roll bar isn't FIA approved Who's right and who's wrong : I leave that up to you 😬 ... but I'm going fot the 'old' type roll bar which is 100% sure FIA approved ... Newer one looks better tough ☹️ Edited by - Slider@7 on 18 Aug 2004 09:58:
lechatsurletoit
Just got an answer from Darren, the bar is £200 new excl. VAT. It is nicer indeed, and with the strut in the center you can drive with a passenger. Do you now if there is a process to get this FIA approved as I thought that all bars built by 'caged' were FIA? Slider7
Look here ... and hopefully we'll know a bit more in a few hours ... Did Darren mention to you that it was not FIA approved ... and is the price quote (200 GBP's excl. VAT) for the new 'caged' type roll bar ??? Can't help you on how to get it FIA approved ... if this shouldn’t be the case ...
lechatsurletoit
£200 id the price of the Caged bar (cheaper then the old one) I gues it's FIA with the strut in place. thanks for the info.
