water-temperature-sender on HPC

Here´s another riddle for you (or more likely me...):

My engine-builder wanted to do something good for me and replaced my temperature-sender, fitted to the bottom of the thermostat, with a new unit from Vauxhall. Unfortunately this sender seems to have other settings, my display now always shows 120°C at normal cruising. Does anyone know where to get the Caterham-sender from ? Is it an original Vauxhall-part (part-number) or from another supplier ?

Anyone a HPC in the garage and able to read what´s written on the sender ??? smile.gif

Thanks a lot in advance !

Marius,

Just checked my factory built HPC in garage as requested. On the two sides of brass hexagon that I can see, one side says Germany, the other side says 120degrees.

My car runs at 95.it does climb to 105 every few minutes but drops back 95.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi Kenny, thanks for checking that, should help me further on. It´s obviously then a BOSCH or OPEL original part, just don´t know what 120°C might mean. Mabye this is the level where the sender gives maximum resistance. I´ll check it out and give it a try on monday.

Thanks again, have a nice weekend !
