GTD
Finished Billy B's Short History of Nearly Everything - my science teachers would have been amazed hom interesting I found it - though I am very glad there are no teachers shouting: Come on Dixon - what did the Reverend Higginbottom discover about the speed of light and its relationship to bearded whelks and the sun? Meldrew
A ham knife? Wow, that's well equipped. Only read later Martin Amis, and it's awful. I promise I will try Money or London Fields, then.
Violet Elizabeth
I like making my own hams, hence the ham knife And a fish filleting knife. Or maybe I just like knives 😳 Started to read, er Yellow Dog ? , which was truly poor. Still, his old man was a great cricketer

Eric McLoughlin
What do I avoid - Much mainstream TV these days - "Big Brother", "Coronation St", "Eastenders" and the rest..... Pulp fiction - not the film but those ultra thick (in both senses of the word) novels that you see people reading on the beach at holiday resorts. Any film directed by Jerry Bruckheimer or (when he was active in the industry), Blake Edwards. Celebrity mags Increasingly, "Autosport". Tabloid newspapers The entire output of BBC Radio 1 Rap/House/Acid/Garage/Jungle "Music" (a more innappropriate description of this cacocophanous mess I could hardly imagine).
