GaryDrew
I'm getting fed up with a constant weeping of oil from the joint between HP oil pump and oil cooler take-off plate. This is despite replacing the square-section rubber 'O' ring for a new one. I'm wondering what the correct tightness should be for the adapter nut that clamps this 'O' ring. Its quite a big nut, which suggests big torque setting, but then again ..... maybe it should be roughly the same tightness a the oil filter (ie. not much) because its the same type of rubber 'O' ring. Any advice would be welcomed.
John
Have you tried a thin smear of grease on the rubber seal? The same tightness as an oil filter should suffice, the only difference being that the filter seal normally gets wiped with oil prior to fitting.
