tiddy1
Can anyone confirm the weigth of minilite wheels in the following sizes 7.5X13 and 7X13 I have measured mine to be 5kg and 4.5kg respectively searching through blat chat I found values of 6.2 kg for a 7X13 and 5.2 for a 6X13, this would lead me to believe that my wheels are magnesium? phelpsa
The second weights are probably for KN Minators. Adam

phelpsa
How did you weigh your wheel? If it was on the weighing scales then they are not very accurate upto 10kgs. You need to weigh yourself and then weigh yourself with the wheels, take away the difference. Adam
Rob Walker
Simon, The minilights are the wrong offset/backdepth. Not a problem on the narrow rims but if your going 8" or wider they will protrude beyond the wheel arches. Apart from looking naff it could fail its MOT. alien
That's my table! Weighed on accurate up to 10 kg scales not bathroom scales. They may have been minilight copies there was no minilight stamp on them and they had steel inserts nut mating face.
tiddy1
Yes steve it is I did a search to see who had actually weighed some wheels , I have re-measured mine on accurate scales and the 7.5X13 weighs in at 4.5kg and the 7" at 4.2kg, so not much point in buying the new caterham wheels to save weight! and I dont think the extra .5 inch on the back is worth loosing 1" on the front. Rob Walker
Are you sure your wheels are 7X13 front and 7.5X13 rear, they do not look that size to me. You are measuring the tyre bead seat and not the outside edges of the rims ? Edited by - Rob Walker on 5 Aug 2004 12:06:
