Baby Bucket
Well, I've read the recent thread regarding these device (~ 26 March 2001) and I wonder whether they actually work for lessor cars (i.e. 1.6 X/F to be precise) I would like to be able to attend the 98dB meetings (i.e. Prescott) in the knowledge that if Baby B does fail the noise test then I can do something about. All comments welcome, Peter
Gareth Lewis
Mine seemed to work - 2.0L Zetec at 101.5db was too noisy at Castle Combe. My Supertrapp brought it down to 98db. I guess that had I removed some of the discs, I could have brought it down further. Can't comment on the change in performance as the engine has just gone in and I was taking it easy! Baby Bucket
Gareth, Thanks for the reply, what model is your SuperTrapp ? Is it fitted directly onto the end of a side exit exhaust ? Finally, where did you but it from ? Many thanks, Peter
Gareth Lewis
Peter, Mine is a '4" disc only for 2" OD pipe'! It came from Raceparts in Wallingford - Tel 01491 822000; www.raceparts.co.uk Their part no is 444-203. I had to cut off the rolled end of my side exit exhaust and had a short piece of s/s tube welded to the Supertrapp to slide over the end of the exhaust. The s/s was cut along its length so that when it is over the pipe and secured with an exhaust clamp, it compresses onto the exhaust pipe. (Well, it makes sense to me!) Let me know if you want more info. Gareth
