rynicolson
After 500 miles in my new SL the time has come to remove the cardboard and carpet tape rear wing protectors and fit my shiney carbon ones... I asked the dealer who built the car to leave them off as I want to fit them without rivets... when I unpacked them I find they are pre-drilled... will I be able to swop them or do the manufacturers pre drill all of them? Anyone know who maked them? Secondly, has anyone fitted them in this way.... whats the best adhesive, and short of taking the wings off what is the best way to ensure that they stick securely? Thanks in advance Tricks Y67 CDS "Mutley"
EFA
Having been in the line of business of making wing protectors for Caterhams, I would suggest the holes are drilled during the trimming stage. In any case, the tool probably has marks to show where the holes should be drilled. Use 3mm black rivetts and forget the plastic edge trim - this way they will look fine. A good idea is also to run a bead of silicon under the top edge.
