k.russell
How does the standard CARB caterham fuel tank breath, through the cap or through the sender 1992 spec car. kevin R J457 DNU black-ali HPC Edited by - k.russell on 6 Jul 2004 18:06:
Graham Perry
have always wondered the same. I have not found a breather on mine anywhere. I can only assume its the fuel cap, but I can't see any vents anywhere.
Joe 90
On carbs it's through the cap. Don't know about injection. SEP field working, not spotted in 101,600 miles. Some photos on webshots, updated 10 June
Tony Martyr
The injection tank breather goes via a non-return valve to the carbon fumes canister in the engine bay that is part of the evaporative loss system. Pre-SVA cars who take this system out have to undertake a modification that keeps the valve but routes the tube at the side of the tank in a zig-zag so you don't get major turn-over spillage
k.russell
Graham, as you say, can't see any way the cap (flush) breathes, but there is a small hole in the sender unit on top of the tank, there are signs of fuel escaping around this area, but could be a bad seal, still kevin R J457 DNU black-ali HPC
