This is the engine from Ammo’s car. I bought it from Ammo at the end of last year, but due to a change in plans have not used it.

Ammo set out to build an 1800 cc / 185 bhp engine with certain characteristics.

The specification is as follows:

1800 Zetec with Mahle 0.5 mm oversize pistons

11:1 compression ratio (runs on 95 octane fuel)

Dyno tested at 187 bhp

Ported big valve head with Raceco 33 / 29 mm oversize valves

Flowbench tested

Matched inlet manifold

Kent FZ2001 262 degree camshafts

Kent valve springs

ARP rod bolts

Steel flywheel

Heavy duty clutch

Dynamically balanced

Aluminium underdriven crank pulley

45 mm Weber throttle bodies

Jenvey bellmouths

Pipercross filters

Weber adjustable fuel pressure regulator

MBE ECU and loom,

Weber Pico 330 cc injectors

Baffled sump

Price to include:

Engine mounts

Aluminium bellhousing

Alternator and brackets

Starter motor

Exhaust manifold.

Cooling system with custom-made swirl pot, hoses etc.

Spare throttle cable

Spare alternator belt

This is everything you need apart from a high-pressure pump / injection fuel tank and silencer. The engine has only done around 5,000 miles since it was built.

The new cost of all the components easily in excess of £5,000.00. This does not include the labour to build the engine, port the head, etc.

I am looking for offers in the region of £3,300.00.

Ammo tells me that his car went like stink. It had 340 bhp per ton!

Full dyno sheet available from 3-9-2003 with one of the nicest power curves you will ever see.

I understand that it is should be a direct replacement. Same length propshaft, we have the gearbox spacer if required. The FI trumpets should be pretty much lined up with the existing bonnet cutout. Exhaust position is same side.

You would need an injection petrol tank [or modify your existing one], a return fuel line and an injection pump [i may have one spare].
