ziplobb
Looking at buying a car that may need new wheels however in order to get it home and before i make that decision i may need to replace two wheels for the journey Q. what spec is required and can i utilise a couple of wheels (balanced up of course) temproarily off of a different vehicle - perhaps non Caterham ? any info would be appreciated Jai
Irrelevant
If it's a De Dion Cat, most rwd Escort/Capri, etc wheels (4.25"/108mm IIRC) wil fit and be OK. The offset's not exact Caterham offset, but close enough for many people to run these wheels anyway. Scrappie wheels would do - assuming tyres are OK - should be around £10 each. Or you could borrow some if someone's feeling kind. After a hi-vis (pocketted side) driver's door if anyone's got one?
Joe 90
If you only going to fit two temporary wheels i would suggest putting them on the back where the offset doesn't matter too much. SEP field working, not spotted in 101,600 miles. Some photos on webshots, updated 10 June
