....to the new look BlatChat, there are some changes compared to the old version:

Firstly, these forums need you to register if you are going to post to them, this is not so that we can keep an eye on what people are doing; it's because one of the new features is to be emailed if someone replies to a topic you posted.

Secondly, if you forget your password, BlatChat can email you with the correct one.

Thirdly, you have the option of deciding how far back you want to go when viewing topics.

Blatchat uses a cookie to record the last time that you came here so that we can indicate messages that you haven't seen before. If you disable cookies, you won't have this option.

Hope you like what we've done, if not, or if you have any suggestions, let us know via the Feedback forums.

I agree. Great job by Barry, Shaun and the whole Management Team.

It's been really interesting (gobsmacking) seeing all the comments about the new site and all the apparent 'web pro' folk commenting on 'how poor this' is, 'how lame that is' etc. BUT when the club (all volunteers) was asking and seeking help and guidance for this project many moons ago the majority did not even raise their heads above the parapet. http://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/thumbs_down.png

Agreed. I only ever saw a request for help with Drupal migration work (something which I don't have any experience in). If there was a request for help with ideas and guidance about web forum usability or beta testing I must have missed it. I would have been more than happy to contribute and indeed I've raised my concerns about missing features on the old BC (although I cannot find those posts now on the new forum).

Data/user account migration is always a PITA and I have no doubt those accounts with probelms will be fixed up soon - it's one time task so once it's out of the way we don't need to go through it again. Same with the performance and stability issues - these are common with new systems and can be ironed out in good time.

Why? It appears my little joke has 'back-fired'. If you all look at the date of Barry's post it was 11 February 2000, the date when the old version of BlatChat changed and my comment simply refers to a new blatchat in 14 years time i.e. the new one now http://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/wink_smile.pnghttp://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/tongue_smile.pnghttp://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/embarrassed_smile.png

The reason for this post is not to detract from the hard work that other guys i.e. Shaun have put in.

I'll get my coat......
