Help us, we're trapped on Mopeds

Evening all! (and apologies if you've already seen this on the se7ens list, you'll just have to give twice 😬).

Starting this Friday, the marvellous piece of Japanese engineering known as

'The Cub' or 'Honda Step Thru' will be transporting myself (along with three other fools, I mean

friends on similar masterpieces, for those who know them being Coose, Welly

(Owelly) and Ian Cummins) on an epic journery from John

O'Groats to Lands End. Seriously.......

Doug the photographer is coming along with a van full of pies to keep us fuelled. *tongue*

The journey is planned to take many days, starting with the slog oop north

to the top, which will be carried out in a van on Friday evening, with

actual liftoff occurring early Saturday afternoon.

We shall be passing such beauty spots as Loch Ness, Cumbria, Iron Bridge, Bath (Ewen, we expect you running alongside through Bath), Newquay and Chester (Mav and Viv, we expect a se7en convoy carrying refreshments) ending up in Lands End a week on Friday!

This will mean enduring approximately 1000 miles on a seat shaped like a

cricket bat.... *arrowright* 🙆🏻 *arrowleft*

This may sound like no mean feat, but bear in mind that Cedric (Coose's

rocket) currently holds the speed record out of the four at 55mph downhill

and 52mph on the flat. This speed cannot be maintained for long periods due

to mechanical sympathy....

Mabel (my peach of a mini-beast) does 49mph ☹️

Therefore, to make this monumental moment worthwhile, we are asking for sponsorship from all who may be interested (a penny a mile?). The entire proceeds are to be donated to the very worthy L7C nominated charity, which of course is dedicated to the research of leukaemia.

Pledge forms are now :

Please wish us luck, come out to meet us, bring pies, and give generously!

naPP - Are you sure you mean a tenner each (i.e. £40)??? If so, that's splendid!

Noger - Am I right in thinking a cockerel is a tenner? Cheers......

Lee - if you want to throw in a Battle of the Planets video, I for one won't complain..... *wink*

And, don't worry about downloading the form as Mark stated before - I'm filling in a sponsorship form right now so we know who has pledged what. Once we've endured the trek, I'll get in contact with you all and I'll let you know where to send the beans and you can send me your address etc. if you'd like to claim gift aid!

Again, thank you all so much, but keep it coming! *wink* *thumbup*
