Petrolhead
I will try one more time but feel that suggestions fall on deaf ears. Sorry Barry 1) Split the for sale section up a tad ie, Cars, parts and O/T 2) When items are sold CLOSE the thread 3) When Items are found or change of mind CLOSE the thread For 2 and 3 have a sticky at the top with some rules. Just a thought as I know this works well on other sites and is not too much extra sections Now with SL No 148 Edited by - petrolhead on 7 Jun 2004 14:51:
Site Manager
Are those two the only rules that you want?

robmar
just my 2p on this (observations not critiscms[;]) when I have been buying or selling items on BC I have found it very useful to be able to see what the same items price in previous sales has been, both in terms of what i should pay for items and what I can expect to sell them for.... if all sold items where removed this would be no longer available... rob

Petrolhead
I think you will see that I suggest that they are closed only. Indeed this way you could still have a peek Now with SL No

Area Representative z7 Posted June 14, 2004 Area Representative Share Posted June 14, 2004 Petrolhead, 1) not a bad idea. 2,3) correct me if I'm wrong, but the "owner" of the thread can close it. If so, it's an etiquette change we need, and I'm all for. I don't think it's a good idea to make closed threads sticky at the top, though. That would mean having a list of closed threads at the start of the list, wouldn't it 🤔 Rob confusion around closed, locked, deletedBit like secure, decent, operating system 😳 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 Sorry, I couldn't resist 😬 Adil

Area Representative z7 Posted June 14, 2004 Area Representative Share Posted June 14, 2004 Petrolhead, no problem. I sometimes get short with stupid people, too I did read your post but admit I didn't really understand it (Barry perhaps you can draw me some pictures at the Raj ). I think I see what you mean now, though. You mean have the rules sticky to deal with 2 and 3 🤔 Sorry, if I still haven't got it. It's very hot in our office. Well that my excuse... 😬 Adil
