Area Representative bluenose Posted June 10, 2001 Area Representative Share Posted June 10, 2001 Did Ford produce a 711 block with no engine number, ie. a bare block that could be stamped with an engine no.? Any help on this subject would be much appreciated. Cheers Nick
Roger King
Nick, The 711M and all the other cast in numbers are nothing to do with the engine number - they merely denote the type of casting that the block is. You can stamp your own engine number on the top face of the block on the exhaust side where there is a small area that is wider than the cylinder head. If this has already been used (by Ford or Caterham perhaps), you can stamp on the rear face of the block above the bellhousing.
