Rosti
Picked up more than a chip today. It's on the passenger side. MOT in a month. Anyone know the requirements for an MOT pass? It's well out of my vison area, looks like a spider & circa 35mm. If it's a replacement is it a trade in on the frame or does it break down & re-build for a new screen? Support Team Shaun_E Posted May 19, 2004 Support Team Share Posted May 19, 2004 You could claim on your insurance - usually £50 excess and no claims unaffected. From Caterham a new (heated) windscreen comes with the surround and is about £250. The MOT alternative is just remove the windscreen 😬. The MOT regs are here. Shaun Edited for a better link. Myles
If you're with MSM and source and fit the screen yourself (not hard...) then they usually waive the £50 excess - or at least, they did with my unheated screen (approx. £100 parts cost). Mine was 'properly' broken though - major cracks all over the place - but it's worth checking out. Keep BC free and open for ALL.
