Al Crickmore
Chaps. Put a thread on here a while ago regarding my SuperSprint and it's low idle 'thing'. Anyway, I think it's the link from the throttle that has slipped slightly rather than the carbs (which was the general concensus). While I was just out there blipping away I decided o take a walk round the back. No smoke. Nice splatter of black stuff up my beautifully tanned shins. I panic. Is that oil? That's not good is it? 1700 Super Sprint smile.gif 'like yer car Mister' teeth.gif
oilyhands
The black stuff is probably not oil.. which is likely to be burned in the cylinder, its more likely some soot from the exhaust pushed out by water (one of the main by-products of combustion) which may have condensed in the exhaust (especially if the engine / exhaust isnt fully warmed up).
