To aero, or not to aero?

Am I right that an aeroscreen is OK for MIRA, which is a L7 organised sprint, but poss not for Harewood or Loton, which are organised by another club and therefore under different rules?--Although my reading of the blue book is that they are free for open vehicles --so unless it is specifically mentioned in the SRs, aeros are OK.

Certainly, they are not mentioned in the Loton regs.

With the sprints that we are invited to - these being Lydden , Harewood , Wiscombe , Loton and Aintree . The lotus 7 club speed championship has its own class . The rules for "our" class are our own club championship rules not those of the invitation club .

So all the rules that applied at llandow , Curborough and MIRA also apply at the invitation venues .

After each invitation round Graham then splits all our times into "our" classses and produces our results .

Hope this helps *smile*

The aeroscreens were queried at Lydden but Dave is quite right we run to our own championship regs, at Lydden once I showed the guy a copy of the regs he was happy.

Can I suggest that if people are going to Harewood they take a set of the regs with them which state that Aeros are allowed (I will not be there)

I did a national A event at Loton at Easter using an aero and running in the normal spaceframe, replica etc up to 2 litres class with no problems. Though I did check with the organiser and chief scrutineer by telephone beforehand.

As long as championship and event regs. don't specify a full screen then all is well, and of course the Blue Book specifically says that screens are "free" on open cars.
