So I`m knackered, angry and tense! And I can`t get my wirelass network to work either............... I had it working last night without Zone Alarms turned on. As soon as I turn it on I loose access between the two machines which are set up for ICS If I set the IP address on the laptop and enter it in trusted zones I can see both machines but ICS doesn`t work. I can`t seem to get everything to work together.........any ideas? simonbell Posted May 6, 2004 Author Share Posted May 6, 2004 My desktop which is the one that will connect to the internet via dialup (until broadband arrives in our village) is running Windows 2000 Professional. The laptop which I want to connect to the internet through the desktop machine is running Windows XP Professional. I`ve got the network connections to work and at the moment I have Zone alarms disabled. Internet Connection Sgharing is now disabled as well. On another note my computer now refuses to shut down or restart from the start menu I`ve done a virus check but nothing to be found ....virus definitions are recent ie within the last week or so. I`m fairly competent IT wise but I don`t have much experience with setting up networks.
