S4 bonnet catch

Anybody have one of these for sale, or know where i can source one? Redline don't have this I already asked.

Have you tried Woolies for Trim, they do a range of these sorts of things and you should find a match or at least near equivalent.

Thanks for the suggestion, but according to redline the catch is unique to S4 - unless you know different??

I don't know different, but let's look at it logically. If Lotus/Caterham (whoever was building it at the time) needed to build (say) 200 7s a year, each with 4 catches then they'd need 800 of them. Do you imagine they went to a catch manufacturer and commissioned a special, with annual volumes of 800, and assumed all the tooling costs, or rang up a supplier, looked in his catalogue of standard products, and chose one that would do the job?

 

IMO it's a safe bet that something else, be it car, bike, boat, or record player lid, has these same catches. Whether they are still being manufactured is another question. It is certain that you will, somewhere, find a match or near equivalent. Good luck.
