Flying kiwi
Advice needed please, When i start my car it sounds as though it is running on 3 cylinders, however when i blip the throttle the engine sounds fine, I have an R400 and it has only done 900 miles, so please don`t come back and say sorry mate it`s engine refresh time! Stuart Faulds
Before getting too excited, try sticking a new set of plugs in it - they don't like being faffed around at low revs and tend to oil the plugs up in protest.
julians
Does the noise go away when you press the clutch? If so, its normal, its just the gearbox rattling.
Mark w
When i first start mine from cold ( which needs a foot on the throttle pedal slightly ) and first try to either drive or blip the throttle the engine "dies" as the throttle is opened. It only does this for the first minute or so and doesnt stop running ,there is just a very large flat spot. After the first sixty seconds it is fine.I dont have any problems starting it and i havent noticed it running on three cylinders.700 mile R400 so similar to yours i suspect. Bangers quotNquot Mas1697456953
It can't be knackered, driving it like a fairy doesn't cause that sort of damage......
