STEVE GILBERT
Anyone know if the Slave on a Ford Sport 4 speed is the same as a Mk1 Escort Mexico, I need a replacement and the Mexico Item is available from my local Factors but only 'to order' All.Knowing1@talk21.com
R2D2
I have an Escort Sport box in my car and it has a cable clutch. I think all sport boxes have this configuration. There is no mounting for a slave cylinder anywhere on the standard box. If you have a Sport Box with an hydraulic clutch it must have been modified so I would take the slave you have fitted and try to find a match. Are you sure you have a Sport Box? It should have an integral bell housing, all in cast iron. If you can seperate the bell housing from the box it must be either a three rail box or one of the later single rails fitted with an hydraulic bellhousing off a Mexico, Cortina, Anglia or similar. Good Luck Edited by - chris flavell on 21 May 2001 19:04:

R2D2
Steve, Let me know what you find as I have been trying to find a replacement for my Sport Box that doesn't involve cutting the chassis. I gather that there is a "universal" chassis but my car doesn't have this feature.
