Stephen Furby Posted May 20, 2001 Share Posted May 20, 2001 My carbon fibre and stainless steel silencer fitted to a 2ltr VX is too noisy for my local Goodwood circuit (106dbs @ 5,000rpm) Any ideas how to temporarily silence it down to around 98dbs or is this just wishfull thinking? Blatman Posted May 20, 2001 Share Posted May 20, 2001 Demon Thieves sell small "add on" silencer that should fit on the end of the tail pipe. However, it just sounds like your silencer needs re-packing. Is one of the ends removable, ie is it secured by (small) bolts or rivetsquestion.gif If so, re-pack it. There have been a number of threads on this recently. Check the archives using the search function at the top if the page. You could also do a search of the Se7ens list archives too.
