heavenly7
When you wash K series engined cars there is a horrible tendency for water to run through the bonnet grill and collect around the plugs. Someone told me there was a small mod to prevent this? Are they correct?
Jason Plato
yes . Small mod = take the bonnet off when washing 😬 Lotus 7 Club Speed Champion 2003 South Wales Area Organiser C7 TOP
Myles
Would be interested to hear it too -although I don't think I've had any problems as a result. ...but on the same topic - how do you get cr@p out of the spark-plug holes? I'm always worried that when I replace the plugs, I might knock some rubbish down into the cylinders.. Keep BC free and open for ALL. Jason Plato
Vacum cleaner - ask your wife , she will show you where its kept But your spark plug leads should have little heads on them that compress against the cam cover and stop ****e getting in there . Gafferjim
RS Jigtec do a nice stainless cover that goes over the spark plugs.
heavenly7
Yep - the bonnet off works a treat but I would be interested in a link to RS Jigtec.
prs
I just simply run a bead of silicone sealant along the gap, remove the excess and you can hardly tell it's there. OK so you have to peel it off when removing the plug cover but how often is that likely to be? It certainly stops any ingress of water and potential mis-firing. Graham Sewell
Hey guys, wrt water haven't you missed the idea that spark plugs get hot and any water will evaporate in a few seconds flat? Now, dirt and dust getting into a cylinder when changing plugs is something that has always worried me! Low tech luddite - xflow and proud!
