_Tim_
Looking for approximate weight of one rear and one front wheel arch, unpainted. Anyone know? - Tim - 2004 Caterham Academy competitor build diary here
wag
The carbon ones are as a feather. I was struck by the lightness of some things, carbon nose and wings, and the heaviness of others, fia bar, harnesses, leather seats.
_Tim_
I'm interested in just the plain old standard ones - need to work out potential weight loss due to racing incidents so I can ensure I don't fall foul of the minimum weight limit for Academy. - Tim - 2004 Caterham Academy competitor build diary here
Richard_E
I think a front cycle wing is about 1KG
robbieclark
front cycle wing to suit 13" wheels in fibreglass weighs 682g (the one I got last week did anyway) nosecone in fibreglass 2925g without fasteners, tape, badge or grill. These weights accurate +-1g but I imagine that variation in production is much higher than that. Ferrino
I think a front cycle wing is about 1KG Sounds a bit too much to me. Closer to half of that I would guess  Edited by - Ferrino on 20 Apr 2004 12:01:
Richard_E
Probably 9000miles of crud on the bottom helps the weight. 😬

Sheds Moderator
3.35kg rear arch! Get out! No way is it that heavy. Maybe if it's got a SS wing protector, yes, but not otherwise. 'Course, maybe they could carry a coconut between them.
Joe 90
Yes, it's with SS protectors. I wasn't going to take them off just to weigh them. *thumbup*Back on the roadhere
