_Tim_
I've got a brand new and unused tonneau cover with ears to suit tillets. Specced it with my Academy car but decided not to fit it. Complete with fixing pack. £150 + postage, based in Norwich if you want to collect. - Tim - 2004 Caterham Academy competitor build diary here
John Howe
Interested in the subject matter but is your asking price correct? Caterham have just quoted £95 + p&p If you want to sell - please phone 01444 892555 JH Deliveries by Saffron, the yellow 222bhp Sausage delivery machine
Ferrino
Perhaps it has been blessed by the Bishop of Norwich 🤔
_Tim_
It was a £200 option when I specced the car...! - Tim - 2004 Caterham Academy competitor build diary here
John Howe
Nick, I can only relate to what Caterham parts quoted us this morning - phone them yourself. I confirm we are still interested but clearly at your stated price it makes more sense to buy from Dartford - do phone if you want to talk this through. _Tim_
I will investigate further - I can only assume what you're getting a quote for isn't quite the same as what I'm selling... either that or I was seriously ripped off at order time! - Tim - 2004 Caterham Academy competitor build diary here
_Tim_
The order form description was "FIA tonneau cover suitable for cage - £200". - Tim - 2004 Caterham Academy competitor build diary here
Wingnonut
Tim, I can confirm. I bought a full tonneau with tillet ears from CC three weeks ago at a cost of £95 +vat+p&P. Prior to putting my tillets in I purchased a tonneau without ears and it cost £87+vat+p&p. Looking at the New Car and Options price list down loaded from CC web site the options are Tonneau £95 or Tonneau and half screens £320. Not sure what you paid for W.Nut . cr
Could well be the fact that it fits a roll cage that bumps the price up. Unless CC have diddled all the Academy guys 😳, the price stated is what they go for new! Chris PS: Tim - why didn't you post this 2 weeks back!? 😬 😬
_Tim_
Well if thats true they are 🙆🏻ing expensive holes! >>why didn't you post this 2 weeks back!? lazy-itus. Sorry! - Tim - 2004 Caterham Academy competitor build diary here
Mike Molloy
Curiouser and curiouser... A few weeks ago I spoke to Darren Philips (CC Parts) and he quoted 90+VAT for a plain tonneau, or 140+VAT for one with Tillett headrest pockets. I actually wanted one to fit with a roadsport cage, which they didn't have in stock, but was told the prices would be the same as above. Somewhere along the line we ain't comparing apples with apples... (And Mr Wingnonut got a bargain.) Normally the prices for the racecar spec-up parts are pretty good - some even decently discounted. Maybe there are 50 quids worth of extra bits in the "fixing pack"...
_Tim_
When I get home I'll post pics of the whole lot, maybe that'll help clear up the confusion. Anyway, is anyone interested in a fia tonneau with tillet ears to fit roll cage? We can argue over the price later! - Tim - 2004 Caterham Academy competitor build diary here
YellowSeven
Tim, YHM I'm interested, if you could mail me a picture of what is coming with the tonneau and what you want for it I'm sure we can come to a deal Cheers Edited by - Parf7 on 20 Apr 2004 15:33:
Wingnonut
See here On one of the excel sheets is the price for tonneaus. Not sure how up to date it is but the prices are in line with what I've paid. And yes, the fixing kit was included in the price. W.Nut . Ferrino
Some of the prices on that list seem out of date (well, compared to the CC website and what they've e-mailed me).
Tonycaterham
I have just( this afternoon) purchased a tonneau cover with ears for tillets and FIA bar for £95 + vat. Also bought pair of half doors for £180 + VAT ouch..... Tony
Steve Day
Trying to make sense of all this...anyway. Tim - I bought a full tonneau last week as I am missing the driver's side tonneau (with tillet). Unfortunately the new one doesn't have the petty bar cut-out that I need. It also has a slimmer zip so that the driver's side doesn't zip to my existing half!! (arghh!) Does your passenger section have the petty bar cut out? If so I may be interested. Otherwise it's off to Oxsted (or whatever their name is...) Please email me. cheers Steve

John Howe
Could the price difference be that yours has two large moth holes at the front end i.e. to fit a full cage. Do not want tonneau with moth holes, so therefore pulling out as a possible purchaser - good luck with the moth balls! masha
thanks - I'll do the same then - do they do a tonneau with pockets for 2x tillets and no hole for FIA strut, if so anyone know how much? M
John Howe
Masha. Jill Judd will add ears to existing covers for £40. A search will come up with her phone number... JH Deliveries by Saffron, the yellow 222bhp Sausage delivery machine

Steve Day
Hi Masha Last week I bought exactly what you said: " do they do a tonneau with pockets for 2x tillets and no hole for FIA strut, if so anyone know how much?" I need a tonneau with the hole for the FIA strut (Petty bar) but not the front (moth) holes. Hopefully CC will refund me as the tonneau is new, if not are you interested?... cheers Steve
John Howe
If Caterham want take it back - get Jill Judd to do the flap for you - she has 25 years experience with classic cars and is reasonably priced Jill's tel no is 01798 813389...
