robmar
I opened the boot of my caterham last night and found a clutch cable & throttle cable plus other assorted detrius the thing is they must have been in there for the lydden sprint although I do not think I can blame them for being over 1s slower than adrian 😬 rob

Jason Plato
Yes , it reccomended that all clutch and throttle cables are mounted in the engine compartment . I would agree Rob , given the fact that you clearly had no throttle or clutch at lyden that would slow you down ......... 😬 this is drivers excuse number 32/891 and a great one at that 😬
robmar
😬 😬 so are you telling me the engine is not in the boot rob
KenEvans
I checked the boot as an after thought at Lydden and found a toolbox in there..............
robmar
was it yours, or did it come free with the new car 😬
KenEvans
LOL Rob - no, no definitely mine. I'd run out of space in the tow car boot.
Steve Robinson
After Lydden I suspect it may be safer if I left my throttle cable in the boot 😬 Steve
robmar
Ken - what do you tow with to run out of boot space, or did you just bring loads of crap 😬 Steve - r u sorted now 🤔 rob
Graham Perry
I took my caterham to a car Boot sale, parked it the wrong way round and nearly sold the engine by mistake ! 😬

Steve Robinson
Rob, not quite sorted yet, but close. Have got one spring re-fitted but still not happy. Basically on full throttle the spring rotates through 90 degrees and wedges itself under the carb, which is what it did at Lydden, so am just looking at ways to prevent this. Will be at Llandow, never fear. Steve
nickaddison
David Nelson left a can of tyreweld in the boot at the Llandow trackday at the end of March - made a hell of a mess when it went off after a good session! Also left a neat little line of dents in the bodywork where it had been flying around ☹️ Scream if you wanna go faster! Graham Perry
Something like that is all to easy to do ☹️
david nelson
The good news is I can not see the dents from the drivers seat. Did it on my last 7 as well. these thing happen. if i drove slower round the corners it would not of happened, but life is to short for that.
