john aston
VVC engine currently being installed in my 7; did not have Apollo in previous 1.4 s/s . No difficulties for my use- the usual road stuff and a few track days. Do I need to rethink with VVC ? If so where is best deal on one please ? Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted April 7, 2004 Leadership Team Share Posted April 7, 2004 John - you may be better locking this thread now 🤔 In the meantime - yes, it is a good investment to Apollo the vvc. The 1.4s seem to have less travelling around the system, keeping more available in the sump/returning faster to the sump. 1.8 engines quickly absorb the contents of the sump and you'll suffer on hard right hand bends - starvation and air getting into the oil. The Apollo will give some extra capacity (4.5 litres up to 7.5 litres) and will take "some" of the air out. Stu.
