John Whyman
My standard road going 1700x/f probably has the same Bilstein spring shocks as originally fitted in 1990.sad.gif They need changing all round now. Can anyone give me some good advice on a replacement (for road work only, and I don't want to spend a fortune),or what model type I should be looking for, I don't want them too soft. Admit to being confused by the availability shown in the press blush.gif. Front mounting is single bottom wishbone if that makes any difference, and rear is de-dion. Thanx. Mike C
Hi John, Having played around with lots of shock my advice would be stick to the standard Bilstiens, unless you want to get involved in experimenting! I use Leda dampers and are very happy with them but having said that I didn't really find anything wrong with the standard set up. They're relatively inexpensive too!! Good luck Mike
