BrianHorn
I have one from a 1989 car which I have just taken off. Rusty but doesn't look damaged. Repaint might be enough. Mail me offline for details. Brian 'The Wizard' is a 1989 de Dion SuperSprint in Red with Silver stripe..
Chelspeed
Brian, sorry to spoil your potential sale but safety and all that.... The tubes changed a lot in about 1994, later ones are lots stronger, changed again in about 2001, later ones even stronger. Not sure what StewartG drives but you don't want to try to put big power down thro a 1989 tube.
BrianHorn
Chelspeed, I agree entirely and would not wish to risk anybody a danger, but Stewart's post asked for 'a de Dion tube'. Nothing more. He didn't say that he's gonna put big horses thru' it. He didn't say which year it was for and he didn't say that he even wanted it to put on a car at all ❗ He may want it for other reasons 🤔 So surely Stewart can decide for himself whether it will suit his purposes or not? He can even take advice here on the forum or otherwise. But what's it you Brian 'The Wizard' is a 1989 de Dion SuperSprint in Red with Silver stripe.. Chelspeed
Yep agree with you. To replace a similar age tube on a standard engine car it'll be fine. Just that I broke mine, 93 spec tube with 200 bhp thro it, and don't want it to happen to anyone else. Sorry to interfere.
