R500 Roll Bar - Mint Condition

not sure how the weight compares to a standard bar - probably a bit heavier i would assume,

but the bar has a much larger diameter than the standard one, looks much nicer and would offer some protection should the worst happen (unlike the standard one)

you can kinda see it in one of my piccies here :

but there should be some better ones on the caterham website? there're often some R500's in the pre-owned car section....

if want a better photo, let me know and I should be able to get one tomorrow for you

ouch!

It came off my 2002 Superlight R so it is reasonable to assume that it will fit all later cars.

The main hoop is actually thicker than the FIA bar by about 5 to 8mm.

When installed it sits approx 50mm lower than the FIA bar which of course will improve aerodynamics and give the car a lower, meaner appearance *smile* I'd say it's an excellent compromise between the spindly standard bar and the aesthetically disastrous FIA bar.

Sorry, questions, questions

Did you have to mode your boot cover?

Are the rear steady bars the same thickness as the FIA.

The question are probable doing you head in but I am actually thinking of using insted of an FIA Bar coz I agree that they are bloody ugly and look too high.

I'm back *biggrin*
