jackb_ms
i have a question regarding harness and MOT. I believe harness have a date by which they need to be cahnged. As I'm more likely to take MLE out on the road than on a track, i would like to know if out of date harness is an MOT failure? Paul McKenzie
No they don't. That date is their FIA approval. Paul
Chelspeed
Nope. MOT just checks if it's frayed or broken. The date is printed on a label sewn into each bit of the harness, it's there for some forms of motorsport, FIA events for example only allow belts to be used for 5 years from the date of manufacture. But MSA (who run motorsport in UK) don't insist on this so even with out of date belts you'll be OK to compete in the UK on the vast majority of events.
