Chissy
Been meaning to post this far a while... Blatchat has been an enormous help to me in learning my new vehicle but I don't like to fill the airwaves with newbee stuff that is likely to be hugely boring for the majority. Have you considered a FAQ section for a club opinion on common problems/ points of interest (along the same lines as the one for posting a post). Items such as fitting the roof, tyre choice, basic driving, possible problems, insurance tips etc. I realise that you can find a thread about virtually anything by doing a search (which can be very interesting), but a beginner like me could possibly make an erroneous decision based on the opinion of a fellow member, plus some the threads can be very long and contradicting. Just a thought to improve the (already excellent) service...?
Chissy
You fool, try looking back through the history of this section and you will see a link (7FAQ), which addresses most of the issues that you are talking about. I am sure it will be added to regularly with some of the other stuff you mention. Am I the first person to answer their own stupid question?
