By which I mean Maidenhead United, of course (no inflated opinions/salaries here - and fans will (usually) be happy to share a pre/post-match drink, regardless of allegiance). We beat Halifax Town while I was away *thumbup* , and our prize was an FA Trophy quarter-final tie at Canvey Island this Saturday ( ). No place in Europe for the winners, but leaving the mainland to face our next oppenents - well, it's nearly overseas ... in fact it's nearly underseas (at 6' below sea level, the UK's lowest-lying football ground) 😳 Er, I don't seriously expect anyone from the Sheds to go. But at least keep your fingers crossed for us, all you footy fans out there. Pleeeease... NB: This isn't a thread hijack at all.
