Cam Timing on XFlow

Robster

Recommended Posts

I am about to change my cam from a 234 to a 244 cam on my XFlow, I have a vernier timing pulley fitted, but have noticed that unlike the K series pulleys it is not adjustable...is there a reason for this? Does this mean that when setting the cam timing, there is no point experimenting with timing?

Thanks

Robin,

Are you sure you actually have a vernier pulley then?

You may have a pulley whose cam is located by dowling--the adjustment of which is by inserting offset dowels. This is more secure but slightly fiddly.

Playing with the cam is quite awkward when engine fitted(understatement),and the offsets are really to accurately install the cam to a predetermined figure,to allow for production tolerance variables.
