Robster
I am about to change my cam from a 234 to a 244 cam on my XFlow, I have a vernier timing pulley fitted, but have noticed that unlike the K series pulleys it is not adjustable...is there a reason for this? Does this mean that when setting the cam timing, there is no point experimenting with timing? Thanks Robin
Roger King
Robin, By definition, a vernier pulley is adjustable. It seems that you have a non-vernier fixed pulley. The way to alter the cam timing with this is to use offset cam dowel instead of the standard straight one. This is more awkward, but is much cheaper and more reliable. It is definitely a MUST to set the cam timing because it is not unknown for a 244 to be as much as 18 degrees out!
