Oh grief - if your going to take up the cat issue with the scrutineers , then does this mean it will be enforced ???

It needs clarifying but only to the extent of a statement that that the club will not be enforcing this requirement .

DONT DO IT FOR CHRIST SAKE *eek* IT WILL CAUSE HAVOC

*thumbdown*

ps - I dont need a cat , I'm just thinking of others ......

I think this thread had uncovered a couple of main discussion point regarding the regs:

1) What is meant by "standard production" 🤔

are our regs going to mirror historic rally regs which state that if a car is produced by the factory with the part under question, the part is considered standard production. But it is up to the competitor to prove this is the case.

and

2) What is a "road legal condition" 🤔

i.e. could you protest about somebody competing with an empty washer bottle 😳 or a big chip in the middle of their windscreen *confused*

The Blue Book says......

Roadgoing Production Cars (which we are not) - .......Induction is free as are exhaust systems........(which presumably means you can do what the hell you like with it as long as it meets the noise regs.)

Then right beneath it

Roadgoing Specialist Production Cars (which we are) makes no specific reference to induction or exhaust strangely but I would have thought if the exhaust is free on Roadgoing Production Cars then this will also read across to Roadgoing Specialist Production cars.

I see no reference to catalysts anywhere.

personally I am happy for the debatee to contiune as I think it is reasonably healthy, plus it means we go to the 28th with the main topics we need to discuss and the implicatiions already known (potentially)

I see no reference to catalysts anywhere.

E12.6.7

"Exhaust catalytic converters may be specified for certain disciplines or formulae. Competitors are reminded of their obligation to maintain such equipment on a vehicle used on the highway where government legislation requires it."

I suggest that means that unless catalysts are specifically required then the MSA don't really care for motorsport purposes.

Another slightly O/T question and I have looked for the answer and can't find it . . . anyway;

What are the specific regs that the club set for race suits? I know it's not full FIA8856-2000 certificaton, but what is it? IIRC it's just a suit made from flameproof non-flammable material. Is this correct? *confused*
