Red SLR
I am just getting my 7 ready for its first track day on Saturday. I have got an FIA bar, which came with a helmet rest.(I think that is what it is!) I cant figure out the correct config for this. There is a Head rest portion then a nother part that is a long threded section. If any one has picture of how this is all suppose to fit together give me a shout please! Or just instrucitons! It looks like somewehre along the line it will have to be drilled. Also does it go behind the existing seat head rest or does it replace it? Thanks for the help, in advance! Simon. Mike Bees
If you've got a headrest on the seat then don't bother with the contraption on the rollover bar (you don't need both). If you want to persevere with the rollover bar attachment: You should have 2 clamps, one which goes on the side of the rollover bar and one which goes on the rearward brace. You need to make up a padded pad to attach to the square bit, and adjust it so that it's very close to the back of your helmet when you're in your normal seated position. Number Six
As Mike says if you don't pad it you will ruin the helmet. I wouldn't bother, personally, if you have a regular head rest. Andy
stevefoster
Plus the clamps will ruin your bar. I have a fitting drawing I can scan and email you if you really are stuck.. Mail me on steve.foster@surrey3.freeserve.co.uk if you need it.
Red SLR
Ok thanks all. I have the STD caterham leather seats, so I will just leave as is for now. Steve - could you send me the drawing please? simon.scott@btcellnet.net Thanks again. Simon. X777CAT
