Paul McKenzie
I have the original GM injection system/manifold/plenum but not the original ECU if that's what you want. I also have the Caterham ignition ECU for a standard VX HPC dizzy set-up, plus dizzy if you need it Paul 07808-632661 01606-784078 Edited by - Paul McKenzie on 15 Jan 2004 21:09:
Marc_Birtles
I have a complete tuned QED Vauxhall XE for sale that has just been rebuilt: QED 'Direct to head' throttle bodies and injectors MBE ECU (mapped for cams) Ported and polished head (matched to throttle bodies) QED double valve springs (race) Bronze valve guides QED Q420 Cams (perfect condition) QED vernier cam pulleys QED supplied solid followers QED 'High Intruder' race pistons Balanced rods, pistons and crank. ARP rod bolts I have just had this rebuilt as part of my now abondened project (I have bought a STM Phoenix with a bike engine instead). It has all new gaskets and seals and cam belt (all supplied by QED). I also had the valves and seats re-cut (tripple angled). It has also been re-shimmed to within 1 thou of the QED recomended clearences (6 thou inlet, 9 thou exhaust). Whilst it was having the seats done I also got them to give the head a MINOR skim to clean it up (This head is NOT bent, warped or porouse, I guarentee it, - they only took about a thou off it!) The engine was originall built with the Q450 cams and was running 245BHP. QED insist that the engine map is the same for the QED 420 (currently in it) and the QED 450 cams. The engine is therefore ready to run Q450 cams (245 BHP) if so wanted since it has been ported (necessary to get the extra power from the 450 cams) -(!) This engine is absoloutly amazing and would cost about £7000 if you walked into QED and asked them to build you one. £2,500 I don't really want to see this engine go so no offers please. EFA
"QED insist that the engine map is the same for the QED 420 (currently in it) and the QED 450 cams." Clearly, such cams must have identical profiles then. Who at QED said this? Fat Arn Slay the K.
Mike C
probably the same guy at QED that told me their 450 kit contained an appropriate map as part of the package when I bought some of their stuff ages ago....... It was appropriate..... for a completely different application!!! Mike
smurfy
However the map that came with my 450 kit from QED was very good.
EFA
Mikes map wouldn't let the engine run unloaded for more than about 10 secs! Fat Arn Slay the K.
a olsson
Arnie what type 0f MBE unit would you expect to be running with this QED 450 kit and is it possible to reprogramme if the settings were not ideal Thanks
Harry Flatters
MBE 967 would be just dandy for this engine *arrowright*Harry Flatters *arrowright* AKA Steve Mell of Su77on Se7ens and Surrey Joint AO
