LancasterBob
Just measuring the low pressure bit of the fuel rail (i.e. the return end) and the tail came off in the vernier! On inspection it appears to have been snapped before and glued back on. Unfortunately it's too close to the reg to be able to sleeve, so I'm on the lookout for a replacement. Anyone got one spare? At least I can easily measure the diameter of the thing now its on my desk! Sheds Moderator
"You should have come to me!" Tell me what it is and I'll look in the shed...pretty sure I have it. Battered
LancasterBob
Hi Battered, It's the plastic rail that runs along the injectors and underneath the black bit of the inlet. I was late for work when i discovered the glued break, so i need to go home and check it's all one part. If so it's about 8-10" long, black plastic with a flange on the rear end and a fuel return at the front end. If you happen to see a coil whilst searching, let me know! Cheers, Rob PS: Wiring looks like it's a go-er! 1400 Supersport with much improved aerodynamics (25% complete)
Sheds Moderator
Mmmm, yep, reckon I have a fuel rail. No coil though, definitely, sorry. They're cheap enough though, surely? I'll check tonight, ISTR my rail if this is the right thing has the injectors attached. is this right?
LancasterBob
Yep, the fuel rail has the injectors attached, although it should be pretty easy to seperate them. I'm fed up of sticking my fingers together with araldite at work, so I'll head for home in a mo and take the rail out and examine it. Coils are cheap enough, but I thought it was worth a try as you do seem to have pretty much an entire car in bits!
