Doug Bishop
Has anyone found an alternative to the nasty examples fitted to the wings as original equipment? Peugeot clear teardrops look v. neat but are maybe a few mm too deep. Comment from other researchers would be welcome. Thanks! Doug Doug
pinkprincess
I've been thinking exactly the same thing as I've got an all-black car with clear lenses on the indicator pods, so orange lenses on the sides would spoil the look completely! Without much flat surface area to mount them on I'd be tempted to go for the clear lenses on page 191 of the new DT catalogue (free with this week's Autosport). They're clearly advertised as repeaters so I assume they would just substitute for the standard items. Only £1.49 each, so even if they're not quite the right size at £3 they might come in handy for something else! RW04FUN I've started so I'll finish....maybe before March
Frying Pan
If they're not 'e' marked they'll fail SVA ☹️ I thought the same, but went with the standard Caterham repeaters in the end. I'm sure I'll get over it Guy See some pictures of the build here. Now had my first drive (19/12/03 17.10)!
martinwhitcher
Go to a motorbike shop, they do a stick-on clear lensed lights. Martin MW 51 CAT Superlight No.
Luke Beaumont
Fiat Coupe repeaters in the headlight bowls, the only way to fly! Light, less wiring clutter, look good and give a visual tell tale of indicator operation in the driver's main field of vision.
Graham Perry
Agreed, as I have done this, but have to add caveat that these may not be completly legal
TonyR
My Superlight passed the SVA in Aug 2002 at Derby with the repeaters fitted in the headlamp bowls. I bought mine from Dave Kimberly at Demon Tweeks. Tony
Luke Beaumont
The only downside to the plan is that if you want nice clear Fiat indicators, be prepared to pay extortionate amounts to some Max Power manufacturer for the privilege. Think mine were £27, but even the dudes on the Fiat Coupe forum organising a bulk buy couldn't get 'em less than £20. Which is a lot of dosh for a small, simple item and reeks of moron tax ☹️
R400C
Just had a really good look around on the net but with no success. Did anyone ever manage to find a source for clear indicator REPEATER lenses? The £1.49 parts from Demon Tweeks are OK for the price but are not exactly perfect. Has anyone had any more success? Support Team Shaun_E Posted February 20, 2004 Support Team Share Posted February 20, 2004 If you've alreay passed SVA then you could risk just binning them! I don't have repeaters and at my MOT a few weeks ago, the tester passed my car after doing the proper check and standing next to the car towards the rear and making sure he could see the indicators - he was happy enought to pass the car and he was in no way being lenient. Of course your local tester might see it a different way . Shaun Yellow SL #
Richard_E
My 7 has passed 3 MOTs without the repeater. His attitude is if they are not there how can i test them?

smithj41
I have a set of clear repeaters on the car. They are the same as standard orange ones but clear lens as silver coated bulb. Ordered from Caterham Midlands (not sure if they supply lens seperate) Try the below link. Green and Silver nose. My Seven James
Luke Beaumont
Brian, I haven't taken any pics thus far, and can't even run you off a couple of snaps as my headlights are in bits waiting to be sprayed ☹️ Count may well have some pics on his site, I believe he was one of the early adopters of this mod. New Barbie
I think I was the first to do this, my car passed SVA with the clear (almost smoked) repeaters in the headlamp bowls. They have the E-mark as well. The must be some pics on my site where you can see them. shrewdcookie - my Caterham site - UPDATED !
New Barbie
try here Note the headlights are the smaller ones, not standard Caterham and the front indicators are clear as well. It's obvious why I've eschewed the Orange when you consider the colour of my car 😬 shrewdcookie - my Caterham site - UPDATED !
Ginnes
Just failed MOT yesterday on lack of side repeaters ( to think I was busy worrying about all sorts of other potential problems ). Wired in a temporary setup which was enough to win an MOT cert. I think I'll be following the Count's example. Graham
