SteveB
Recently rebuilt 1500 miles ago - since then has only seen road use (mostly run-in miles) with the exception of four 36 second hillclimb runs and some rolling road time. Spec: VHPD crank Omega pistons Arrow Steel rods VHPD liners Vandervall big ends Std oil and water pumps No clutch or flywheel It makes 215bhp/160lbft at Emerald's rolling road (as fitted to an Elise with a DVAPower head). Currently still in car so can be heard running. 1200 GBP
SteveB
More details on the rebuild - the liners and rings were replaced. The pistons were checked by Dave Andrews (DVA) and were well within tollerance, having only covered 20k of mostly road miles. Dave also checked the VP big end shells and these were hardly worn and were re-used. I am going to remove the arrow rods and the head (ported by Dave), and replace with VHPD items. The rods will be s/hand, but the head casting will be brand new and will use s/hand standard VHPD components. I plan to assemble it all and get it running so the buyer can hear before buying. Price still 1200 GPB (but for a complete engine minus flywheel, clutch, alternator, starter and induction). SteveB
Same SteveB as on SELOC/BCBBS ;-) No Duratec for me but a Scholar block and tungsten inserted crank.....Much as I'd like a Duratec the sprint/hillclimb rules would put me in a silly class if I fitted one.
