...post a link to a reply in a thread (say half way down the page) so that the window opens to *that* reply rather than the top of the thread....?

Its just finding the posting number in the source thats annoying. Also, the first post in a thread doesn't appear to have one - it's keyed on the topic number rather than the posting number... ho hum...

 

What I want to know is how you play with which topic is opened when you click a topic header - like on the 'secret thread' or whatever its called.

ooh look - you can download whole threads on one page if you fiddle around with the settings enough. try this:

 

the ANSWER thread on one page!

 

pn seems to be page number

ps seems to be amount of stuff on each page

 

This probably doesn't help server bandwidth so I wouldn't recommend doing this too much and I'm probably not making myself popular with the site administrator... sorry!
