Adrian Bruce
Fanch, Why the interest in the chassis number?
Fanch
When a car is imported in France, we must register the car by an administration (the Drire = DVLA ??) to become road legal. the operation is very easy when the car has a European Conformity Certificate. But for a caterham a SVA is necessary; and the controler is cooler when the chassis number is like the chassis number declared by the french importer for this type of Cat. (no problem for the R =RHD) the french administration does not like the kit cars. In theory, the ECE regulations assert that any used car already road registered in other ECE country must be registered without problem when imported, but it is the theory ! Adrian Bruce
Fanch, Thanks for the info. Had to be beaurocracy that held things up! Have you thought of buying one direct from Caterham? They have a 2000 Roadsport VVC for sale on their website here : http://www.caterham.co.uk/showroom/index.htm Bon chance!
Fanch
I go every day (and night !!) on the caterham web site I have seen the Cat VVC (silver) , but too expensive for me. ☹️ I would replace my "old" Cat Sprint 1991 here Fanch
